President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared how his policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, have taught Nigerians to manage.

President Bola Tinubu shared a personal story of a friend who went from driving five Rolls-Royces to driving a Honda due to the cost of petrol.

The President shared the story on Monday, Dec. 23, in a chat with reporters at his Bourdillon residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

He said, “No monopoly, no oligopoly. People are learning management.

"My friend used to have about five Rolls-Royces; the other day I saw him in his Honda; he said that is when you (Tinubu) put me, then I said I didn’t put you there, he said because of fuel price, he could no longer maintain a five-limo type of vehicle."

The President added: "It is not negative to learn to manage. You learn to control your electricity bill, switch off the light, let's learn to manage."

This statement did not go down well with citizens who pointed out that the masses are expected to downsize but the government has refused to.
