Nigerian comedian, Real Warri Pikin recently shared her experience about almost regretting opening up on her weight loss journey due to the negative feedback she received.
She revealed that her weight had caused numerous health issues, leading her to undergo gastric sleeve surgery.
In an interview with Ghanaian journalist Doreen Avio on JoyNews, Real Warri Pikin disclosed that her health struggles had resulted in frequent hospitalizations, affecting her ability to perform and support herself.
She expressed how challenging it was for her, as she had to decline comedic events and even return money that had been paid to her.
Reflecting on the backlash she faced after sharing her surgery experience, the comedian-turned-actress admitted to regretting the unfavorable comments and questioning her decision to disclose further details about her transformation.
“I almost regretted coming out to say my truth, because people do not accept change. They are stuck with the old version of you because your old version makes them happy, and comfortable. They are plus size, they’re big, they can relate and it makes them happy. So, when you change they feel like you’ve betrayed them, they can’t accept change,” she said.

Looking good
ReplyDeleteThere is a point that the celebs must understand that it is not every cloth that one leaves outside to dry out in the sun. A little bit of intrigue about your persona makes one an interesting subject. What's not necessary for the public, keep away from them jeje.
ReplyDeleteGood on her, though. If the surgery makes her feel good, physically, emotionally, and health wise, why not? She looks fabulous and should ignore the yeye critics 😁
